About Eric Shea
His journey began in 1975 in a chilly Michigan garage, where a young Eric first turned wrenches on rusty Volkswagen Beetles and Type 1 engines. This early passion for resurrecting classic air-cooled machines naturally evolved into a deep affinity for Porsches, particularly the underappreciated 914 series.
By 2004, after honing his skills on personal projects—including a factory 914-6 restoration that earned a permanent spot in the Porsche Museum at Silverstone, UK—Eric launched PMB Performance with a single pair of Porsche 914 rear brake calipers. Those calipers sold in just 15 minutes, igniting a demand that would transform a garage hobby into the world's largest vintage caliper restoration and refinishing service.
